Debt Management - House of credit cards
It’s safe to say that the British consumers have a love affair with credit cards. This has caused unprecedented levels of debt, however, and many will require a debt management plan to avoid bankruptcy or insolvency.
A report released by MoneyExpert found that a staggering 3 million people in the UK have 5 or more credit cards. The level of unsecured debt that this creates is vast and the associated debt problems are being felt to a great extent across the country. Those with in excess of 5 credit cards often find that their spending become unsustainable and they are faced with bankruptcy when their repayments become impossible. For those in this position, most will find that a debt management plan is the ideal solution to free them for stress of their spiralling debts.
Debt Management – Keeping an eye on spending
A debt management plan is a good way to formulate a repayment proposal with your creditors but it is of imperative importance that spending is monitored and people live within their means. Once a person has got their finances in order through a debt management plan, it is important that they don’t fall into old routines when it comes to spending. The findings from the MoneyExpert report doesn’t seem to bare this out, however. It found that 28% of those who already own credit cards will be applying for more during the course of the year and that 78% already own one or more credit card. Debt management plans are increasingly being employed by those who want to take responsibility for their debts and regain a firmer financial footing.
Debt Management – Consolidate your debts
With the current credit crunch impacting the spending of consumers across the nation, it is a good time to take responsibility for ones debts and a debt management plan is a good means by which to achieve this aim. By negotiating with creditors and those offering debt management proposals, it becomes possible to make debt more transparent and formulating a plan to pay it off that bit easier. Insolvencies and bankruptcies are set to soar in 2008 but many will avoid this consequence by agreeing a debt management plan to repay their creditors.
