Debt Management - Lambasted Banks
The root causes of the debt management problem in the UK are plain for all to see. Many experts are suggesting, however, that a large number of British banks are not doing all they can to help with some even acting childishly.
In the current financial climate, few issues are more pressing than debt management but it transpires that many banks are not being altogether helpful in providing assistance to their customers. As such, many people who are saddled with spiralling debts will look to financial experts to provide them with debt management advice, such as an individual voluntary arrangement, which is a legally binding arrangement that allows a debtor pay off their debts in a manner that is achievable for them.
Debt Management - Banks Adding To Problems
The extent of the debt management problem in the UK is extensive as witnessed by the fact that home repossessions are set to reach a twelve year high and insolvencies being expected to reach record levels in 2008. A leading business analyst, Ralph Silva, believes that banks need to take responsibility for the economic malaise but are running scared; which is leaving their customers in the lurch as their debt management abilities are severely hindered. Despite the base rate cuts being made by the Bank of England, most leading banks aren't passing this saving onto their customers and carefully guarding the income generated instead of using it to resuscitate the spluttering mortgage market.
Debt Management - Getting A Handle On Finances
Debt management will continue to cause problems for homeowners and consumers across the UK as the real affects of the credit crunch begin to take hold. This will obviously have a bearing on the profits of banking institutions as people tighten their belts in order to keep the debt management on track. Speaking to Radio 5 Live, business analyst, Ralph Silva, said he has little sympathy for the banks by stating, "For the past 20 years they [commercial banks] have been riding a phenomenal wave and they have been making a tremendous amount of money. Now they're just being ordinary businesses. Let's not feel sorry for them." In terms of debt management, many who find themselves in financial strife will rely on an individual voluntary arrangement in order to tackle their debt problems.
